Client Manager – US Large Market

Job Description:

• Serve as payments expert by providing expertise on policies, benchmarking, and recommendations to optimize client programs, reduce costs, and drive efficiencies
• Identify portfolio growth opportunities and deliver plans to achieve growth, collaborating with internal resources to expand client spend
• Lead proposals and pricing for client renewals and expansion
• Negotiate client contracts and oversee solution implementation
• Engage, develop, and influence stakeholders across multiple levels within client organizations
• Demonstrate American Express’ differentiated value and achieve profitability objectives
• Overcome complex client barriers, resolve escalated issues, and manage internal stakeholders
• Identify and develop relationships with client decision-makers to influence program management and growth

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years prior strategic relationship management and/or sales experience
• Sense of urgency and deep resilience to drive results and win
• Experience managing complex and challenging clients
• Proven relationship management skills with comfort and effectiveness establishing relationships at C-levels and within cross-functional areas of Fortune 500 companies
• Experience with Business & Professional Services, Financial Services, Information Technology, or Media & Entertainment preferred
• Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States required; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship
