Freelance Software Engineer – App Development, Hydrogen, Shopify

Job Description:

Further develop the PURELEI Club App as a hybrid system consisting of a Flutter shell with an embedded Hydrogen web app
Integrate the app with Shopify Storefront and Admin APIs
Independently implement well-defined features from technical conception through implementation to release
Develop web applications with TypeScript, React, and server-side rendering
Collaborate with the team to decide on appropriate technical approaches for requirements
Develop maintainable, documented solutions that fit the existing codebase
Ensure quality through testing and systematic bug analysis
Optionally contribute to the Shopify web shop with themes, Functions and Extensions on an ad-hoc basis
Productively apply LLMs and AI tools and critically evaluate their outputs
Complete a brief technical test task as a written concept for a real app feature

Requirements:

Several years of experience in professional web or full‑stack development
Experience with Shopify and an understanding of the platform’s capabilities, limitations, and common solution patterns
Strong knowledge of TypeScript and React
Experience with server‑side rendered React applications such as Hydrogen, Next.js, or comparable technologies
Understanding of maintainable architecture, testing, and clean code quality
Productive use of LLMs and AI tools and critical assessment of their outputs
Ability to independently develop and evaluate solutions
Independent, pragmatic, and structured working style without micromanagement
Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly
Good German and/or English language skills
Experience with Flutter and hybrid app architectures is a plus but not required
Experience with Shopify theme development (Liquid), Shopify Functions, and Extensions is a plus but not required
