Families request coverage information online — you call them back and help them choose the right protection. Brokers here represent multiple carriers, which means you get to recommend what's actually right for the family instead of pushing one company's product. No cold calling. No door knocking. Nobody sells to their friends and family.
Your first 30 days, in order:
- Get licensed. $100–$200 paid to the state, never to us — and we reimburse it 100% if you pass within your first 7 days. We walk you through every step and most people finish in 1 to 2 weeks. You can also earn before you're licensed: set the appointment, hand it to a licensed manager, they close it, you get paid.
- Training camp. Guaranteed, free, and run virtual so you start from wherever you are. Script, product knowledge, objection handling, live call coaching — daily, from producers still writing at the top of this industry. Show us something early and you're invited to San Antonio for a week of in-person camp on us: travel covered, proper housing, training in the room. Crush that week and you're offered another four to six down here. Every rung of that is earned, not promised.
- Start writing. Free lead flow while you ramp. You don't buy a lead to start.
Where it goes from there: a published comp grid where production milestones move your contract up in writing, then a builder track where you develop a team and earn overrides on everything it produces.
The numbers, straight: our average producing agent writes $20,000 per month in premium. Average approved application is about $1,200. That's production volume — take-home depends on your contract level, activity, and close rate.
The honest part: this is 100% commission, 1099. No base. No hourly. "Broker" is a license and a responsibility, not a salary. You will feel overworked and underpaid before the outputs catch up to the inputs. That stretch is the price of the craft.
Who does well here: competitors, athletes, military, career changers, and anybody who wants a licensed profession without four years of tuition to get into it.
